SLPI hosted an insightful workshop on Data Analytics & Reporting in Journalism at the SLPI Auditorium, Colombo, bringing together journalists, media students, and media professionals from print, electronic, and online media platforms.
The session was led by Dr. Radheeka Abeyweera, Assistant Vice President / Principal Data Scientist at Octave (John Keells Holdings) and former Director of Data Science at Meta — who guided participants through data-driven reporting, including sourcing, verification, basic analysis, and the use of AI tools.
This initiative was made possible with the generous support of the India–Sri Lanka Foundation, as part of SLPI’s ongoing commitment to strengthening digital journalism in Sri Lanka.
