The Role of Media in Ethnic Reconciliation

Panel discussion on “The Role of Media in Ethnic Reconciliation” was held at the Sri Lanka Press Institute on 6th August 2019.

The panelists Prof. Jayantha Seneviratna, Associate Professor at University of Kelaniya, Att. K. W. Janaranjana, Editor-in-chief, “Anidda” newspaper, Mr. Rashi Fernando, Acting Director, Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms (SCRM) and moderator Mr. Shan Wijethunge, Director, Sri Lanka College of Journalism led the discussion engaging the audience in an stimulating dialogue on media climate in the country and reconciliatory needs of the country and in media reporting. The question and answer session that followed created space for expression and exchange of various views enabling a rich and productive conclusion of the discussion.
