SLPI / ICFJ Accountability Journalism  Training

The Sri Lanka Press Institute The Sri Lanka Press Institute in (SLPI) in partnership with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) conducts the program “Just the Facts: Investigative Journalism in Pursuit of Truth and Transparency” to equip Sri Lankan journalists in building capacity on investigative reporting skills.

The SLPI and ICFJ hosted the training program on ‘Accountability Journalism’ on 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th May 2022  from 9 AM onwards on the Zoom platform. The workshop was conducted by the Josy Joseph Investigative journalist, founder of Confluence Media, author of A Feast of Vultures – The Hidden Business of Democracy in India & The Silent Coup – History of India’s Deep State, and Samar Halarnkar,  editor of Article 14, a media outlet focused on reportage and research related to the rule of law in India, columnist for Scroll  and co-founder of the India Love Project.
The program was held in four sessions spanning across two weeks where an average of 20 journalists from print, electronic and online media took part in the program where they engaged closely with the experts in meeting learning outcomes.
