The Embassy of Canada, in collaboration with Newsreel Asia and Sri Lanka Press Institute, is organising a two-day workshop on narrative journalism and human-interest storytelling.
The workshop is designed to equip mid-level and senior journalists with the skills to use the art of storytelling in journalism. It will help participants reimagine reportage by placing people at the heart of the news.
Date: January 21 & 22, 2026
Venue: Amari Colombo, No. 254 Galle Rd, Colombo, Sri Lanka
Last date to apply: December 15, 2025
About 40 participants will be selected for the workshop.
Lunch and tea/coffee with refreshments will be provided on both days.
Participants travelling from outside Colombo will need to arrange their own travel and accommodation.
Limited translation facilities will be available for the participants.

වෘත්තීය මාධ්යවේදීන්ට (වසර 3ට වැඩි පළපුරුද්දක් සහිත) මාධ්යකරණය තුළ විශේෂාංග කතා ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට අවශ්ය කුසලතාවන් වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම සඳහා මෙම වැඩමුළුව සැලසුම් කර ඇත.
- වැඩමුළුව පැවැත්වෙන දිනයන්: 2026 ජනවාරි 21 සහ 22
- ස්ථානය: අමාරි හෝටලය, කොළඹ (Amari Colombo), අංක 254 ගාලු පාර, කොළඹ.
