Observation of Print Media News Reporting During the Presidential Election Period

This observational research examines how print media adheres to the media guidelines and
professional codes of conduct set by the Election Commission during the “Election period” of the
Presidential Election 2024. This primarily focuses on the extent to which these guidelines were
integrated into the media’s coverage of election-related news, evaluating both the observance of
electoral regulation and journalistic integrity.

Priority is placed on assessing whether print media demonstrated neutrality and impartiality in
its news reporting. The study also investigates whether the allocation of print media space was
equitable, ensuring that no political party, independent group, or candidate was subjected to
either favoritism or bias.

The methodological approach employed in this study facilitates a comprehensive analysis of
the content within print media, using both qualitative and quantitative techniques to assess the
depth and scope of media reporting.
