The Sri Lanka Press Institute’s FactSeeker team in collaboration with the US Embassy conducted a workshop on “Digital Media Literacy and Unmasking False Narratives” on May 08th, 2023, at the University of Kelaniya.  The training was conducted by Media Trainer, Kasun Kumarage and it was attended by 38 enthusiastic undergraduates.

The objective of the workshop was to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to identify and challenge false narratives prevalent in the digital media landscape. The workshop covered insights on evaluating information sources, recognizing and debunking misinformation and disinformation, and ensuring digital safety.

SLPI expresses sincere appreciation to Dr. Wijayananda Rupasinghe, Head of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Kelaniya, Dinithi Jayasekara, Senior Lecturer, and the entire staff of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Kelaniya.
