Virtual launch of the report: “Overview of Threats against the Safety of Journalists in Sri Lanka” and the website, “SL Media Freedom Tracker”

In a virtual event that took place on Monday, 20 March 2023, the Sri Lanka Press Institute launched their website SLPI Media Freedom Tracker and the Report “Overview of Threats against Journalists in Sri Lanka (1990-2021)”.

The objective of the website and the report launched by SLPI was to formulate a publicly accessible database of incidents which threatened the safety of journalists in Sri Lanka and to provide a comprehensive report on the challenges faced by Sri Lankan journalists, expanding the existing information of such threats posed to journalists in line of duty.
