Human Rights Day 2022: “Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All”.

Journalists play a key role in safeguarding everyone’s human rights. Ensuring the safety of journalists and media professionals is vital in fostering human rights.
The Sri Lanka Press Institute in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Sri Lanka & Maldives conducted the symbolic handing over of the SLPI safety jackets to journalists in conjunction with the “Writing with Fire” movie screening held on 08 December 2022 in commemoration of the Human Rights Day which falls today, December 10, 2022. The handing over of safety jackets were made possible with the support of the Free Press Unlimited of Netherlands. The event was graced by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka and Maldives, HE Ms. Bonnie Horbach and the Chief Executive Officer of SLPI, Mr. Kumar Lopez.
