“A Strong Parliament for a Democratic Tomorrow” – Provincial Workshop for Youth

The Sri Lanka Press Institute’s youth awareness workshop series titled ” A Strong Parliament for a Democratic Tomorrow” takes place as a province-wide initiative to promote democracy and political literacy among youth.
The Central Province workshop was held on 28th May 2022 with 38 youth participants.  Senior Lecturer Mr. Hakeem Abubackar and Mr. Manjula Gajanayake, Executive Director, Institute for Democratic Reforms and Election Studies (IRES) led the sessions on Parliamentary procedure. District political representatives like Hon MP Rohini Kavirathna, former MPs Professor Ashu Marasinghe and Mylvaganam Thilakarajah briefly joined the programme sharing their experience.
