SLPI and ICFJ Conducted a Training Program for Journalists on Investigative Data Journalism

The Sri Lanka Press Institute in (SLPI) in partnership with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) implemented the program “Just the Facts: Investigative Journalism in Pursuit of Truth and Transparency” to equip Sri Lankan journalists in building capacity on investigative reporting skills.

 

The SLPI and ICFJ hosted the training program on data journalism on 4th, 6th, 11th, and 13th October 2021 from 7 PM onwards on the Zoom platform with expert consultation and training by independent journalist, Gurman Bhatia, New Delhi, and Jeniffer LaFleur, Center for Public Integrity, Washington DC.

 

The program was held in four sessions across two weeks where an average of 20 journalists attended sessions on data-driven journalism with hands-on training on finding data sources, building data, and communicating data.
