Webinars on Tackling Fake news during the Election Period

Sri Lanka Press Institute hosted webinars for journalists moderated in both Sinhala and Tamil languages on  “Tackling Fake news during the Election Period” The webinars were hosted on the Zoom platform on 15th and 20th July 2020.

The resource persons for the two webinars were Mr. Arun Arokiyanathan, Editor, Globe Tamil, Mr. Mohamed Fairooz, Editor, Vidivelli, Mr. Shihar Aneez, Lead Trainer, Center for Investigative Reporting Sri Lanka, and Mr. Kamal Liyanaarachchi, Sinhala Complaints Officer of Press Complaints Commission of Sri Lanka respectively.

Journalists from both Sinhala and Tamil audiences participated in the webinars and found the sessions resourceful and informative.
