DATA JOURNALISM FOR IMPROVED REPORTING

The Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) recently conducted a training session on the importance of Data Journalism in news reporting. The training was conducted by Mr. Asim Bashir Khan, Msc in Economics and from the Centre for Excellence in Journalism from Pakistan, conducted the training to the print journalists in Sri Lanka. Mr. Khan stressed the importance of how information and data available to the public could be used to bring out critical reporting to address issues in the society and in the country.
